Cristina Gil White has more than 20 years of experience working across the private and nonprofit sectors, with sustainability, strategy, communications and stakeholder engagement as common threads throughout much of her career.<\/p>\n
Most recently, Cristina spent three years on the Management Board of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), where she served as Chief Engagement Officer and, for a period, as Interim Chief Executive. She had previously spent nearly three years on GRI’s Supervisory Board. Her responsibilities covered strategy, engagement with companies, governments and other stakeholders, digital reporting, partnerships, communications, marketing, education and products and services for reporting organizations.<\/p>\n
Before GRI, Cristina was Chief Sustainability and Communications Officer at Suzano and Vice President of Sustainability at Orbia. These roles gave her the other side of the reporting perspective: responsibility for the sustainability strategy and performance behind the disclosures, the quality and integrity of non-financial information, ESG ratings and the integration of environmental and social considerations into business decisions.<\/p>\n
Her career has included executive and management positions in organizations such as Fundaci\u00f3n EDUCA, Worldfund, The Nature Conservancy, Rare and Pronatura Noreste. She has served on the boards of companies and NGOs, including as an independent director of a publicly listed company. Cristina has also twice served as a judge for the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards.<\/p>\n
Cristina was trained as a chemist and holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science and Engineering.
