Dr. Madelyn Antoncic, a Ph.D. Economist, is a Senior Fellow at NYU Development Research Institute. She has gained a wealth of experience in banking and finance spanning global markets across all asset classes in both the private sector, holding various senior market roles at Goldman, Barclays, and Lehman, and the public sector, at the World Bank where she was Treasurer and Vice President, and at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where she was an economist. She has significant experience as a member of the board of directors of global publicly listed companies in the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. She is known for leadership in financial innovation and implementation of national climate-related disaster risk reduction and mitigation structures to help developing economy countries mitigate and transfer climate-related financial and other risks to the markets.<\/p>\n
Dr. Antoncic has advised the US Treasury at the Secretary level; the FDIC; other senior policy makers globally at central banks and other ministries; and corporate C-suite and board members. She is an internationally recognized industry leader and expert on risk management and governance. She is the subject of many risk management and governance graduate school case studies concerning the Great Financial Crisis. She is a frequent speaker at various fora, including at the UN General Assembly SDG Biz Forum Plenary; UN Climate Change Summit; UNCTAD-ISAR; Sandai Dialogue on climate-induced disaster risk mitigation frameworks; the High-level Global Infrastructure Forum; and on sustainability, the Sustainable Development Goals, the insurance gap, as well as other risk topics. She is a member the Research Advisory Panel of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO); a member of the Bretton Woods Committee; and a member of the Editorial board of the Journal of Risk Management in Financial Institutions. She is a founding member of the Chairman\u2019s Circle of the Economic Club of New York, and a founding member of the Centennial Society of the Economic Club of New York. She is a recipient of numerous awards for business and finance as well as for leadership. She has published widely on sustainability, catastrophic risk, and other systemic risk issues.<\/p>\n
Dr. Antoncic holds a Ph.D. in economics with a minor in finance from The Stern School of New York University, and a Master of Philosophy in Economics with a minor in Finance from The Stern School of New York University. She was an Alfred P.
